Helpline to Combat Live Cyber Attacks Launched
Action Fraud, the national fraud and cyber crime reporting centre, has launched a 24/7 live cyber-attack helpline.
According to a survey, between 2016 and 2017 46% of businesses were affected by a cyber breach or attack, resulting in loss of customer details, breached websites, and consequently loss of earnings and customer trust.
If your business is suffering a live cyber attack (one which is ongoing and is affecting the business’s ability to function), you should call Action Fraud immediately and follow the instructions to reach the 24/7 cyber helpline.
Specialist advisors can give advice and support to businesses, and then liaise with the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB), who then assess whether there are any websites, bank accounts or phone numbers that can be shut down.
